The National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) laid down the minimum qualifications for a person to be eligible for appointment as a teacher for classes I to VIII in Notifications dated 23rd August 2010 and 29th July 2011 in accordance with the provisions of subsection (1) of Section 23 of the RTE Act. One of the essential qualifications for a person to be eligible for appointment as a teacher in any of the schools listed in Clause (n) of Section 2 of the RTE Act is that he or she must pass the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET), which will be conducted by the appropriate government in accordance with the NCTE Guidelines.

1. How can I prepare for CTET?
Ans. NCERT books from class I to VIII must be studied to perform well. Solve all problems given in Science books from class VI to VIII. Questions on pedagogy and practical problem-solving questions will be asked. Solve the practice problems in the online test series and sample papers defined for CTET.
2. What is the salary of a CTET teacher?
Ans. A CTET passed teacher working at the primary level gets about Rs 35,000 to 37,000. A teacher working at the upper-primary level receives a salary of Rs 43,000 to 46,000. A CTET-qualified PGT teacher mostly gets a pay of Rs 48,000-50,000.
3. What is the CTET age limit?
Ans. Candidates should be citizens of India. The minimum age limit to apply for CTET 2021 is 18 years. There is no restriction on the upper age limit to apply for the CTET exam.
4. Who is eligible for giving CTET?
Ans. To apply for CTET, if you apply for primary stage teacher then you must have passed 12th with 45% marks. If you want to apply for Elementary Teacher, then you should have graduation with 45% marks and 12th pass with 50% marks.
5. Can I give CTET before B Ed?
Ans. The Students who have qualified B. Ed may also be eligible to apply for CTET (Central Teacher Eligibility Test) 2021. You should have a B. Ed.
6. Which is better CTET or TET?
Ans. CTET score will allow the candidates to be recruited in central government-run schools such as Kendriya Vidyalaya Navodaya Vidyala, etc. Meanwhile, the TET scores will allow the student to be recruited in one of the state government-run schools situated in a particular state.
